TiTAN Suspension for Toyota Corolla KE70
Day 13 - Self Improvements :)
Before After
During
It was first thought that release the brake hose from the bracket and then move it behind the bracket. However after inspection, it is found that since the bracket is of no further use, then cutting the entire bracket off would be more reasonable. This is given the condition that the brake hose are very rigid and strong, which will hold itself well without assistance from something else.
It was also found that
Front
Left - resting (fender to rim's bottom) = 52.7 cm, lifted = 59.2 cm, stroke = 6.5 cm
Right - resting = 53.1 cm, lifted = 59.1, stroke = 6 cm
Difference between left and right is 0.5 cm. It is no wonder the left side seems to be lower than the right. This small adjustment should be very easily made.
However it may also be due to the car's weight being different from left to right. This is highly possible as mass produced consumer cars made from the 80s are not regarded as exclusive as certain range of high-class vehicles and may not have received the highest attention to care from engineers and / or managements alike.
Rear
Left - resting = 54 cm, lifted = 60.2 cm, stroke = 6.2 cm
Right - resting = 55.3 cm, lifted = 61.1, stroke = 5.8 cm
Difference between left and right is 0.4 cm. The right looks higher than the left, could it be due to the 54 vs. 55.3 (must be).
However the fuel tank is mounted extreme rear right, perhaps it is the culprit. Very highly possible............
This figures were recorded before the "self improvement" modifications. The floor was inspected to be visually flat to start of with.
Now that rear coilover suspending angle is slightly different, there may be slightly different levels all together.
There are allot more variables affecting the settings and no conclusion should be made at of this moment as to the real situation of the setting, before applying further study, collection of measurement, analysis and etc.
Aftermath
Driving difference? only on the psychological level. No real differences in handling??? Must be me still a beginner / amateur??? :(
