TiTAN Suspension

TiTAN Suspension for Toyota Corolla KE70

Day 7 - Installation Finishes (22 Sep 03)

The front setup is complete. The solution of the blocking nut and bolt is solved by adding a "Roll Center Adjuster". However this version of the "Roll Center Adjuster" is not conventional and seems ................ fragile to be honest. I'll have to ask a friend to machine a new one for me just like those shown in www.club4ag.com: -

While mine now looks like: -

3 red semi circular square indicates it is a combination of 3 items.

A zoom in of the spot. Notice another stainless steel on the right inner side.

It is made out of 3 pieces of tube like combination. Middle black has the diameter of the strut body, but thin in material. While the two on the sides are stronger stainless steel. The bolt has been upgraded to 10 tensile strength.

The green semi circular square is hinting the hidden view of the other stainless steel tube.

At the end, the front looks like: -

The solution for the rear is found by stroke of luck, where there is a coil which fitted with little mod, so it was used. The rear remains separate coil and telescopic absorber. No coilovers.

Aftermath

Once I got the car and driving. I noticed the ride is complete different from the CIVIC and that both performance and comfort is not as good. I return quickly and ask them why. After they listen to my description then they tell me that the CIVIC is using double wish bone setup and is far more superior both front and rear compared to KE70 setup.

Oh my god, I can't believe this. This is all my fault, for not understanding other cars.

Oh well, nevermind. The front seems to be higher than the rear and so I didn't like the feel. Will have to adjust it later.

Many mixed feelings here. Most on the good side. Come to think of it, it is so much better than before that I nearly don't know what to say to them to further improve the settings.

Being greedy is the cause of this dilemma. Well, I've got one final setting free of charge. I better drive it more before telling them what to do.

It's late around 8pm, so I left. Going back tomorrow to settle the rear ride height.
