TiTAN Suspension for Toyota Corolla KE70
Day 12 - Finale .................................................. Really? (27th November 03)
Inverted Coilovers ......................... still feels unusual............................ Nice picture it is...............just leave it there for indulgence :)
TiTAN is visited again for minor adjustment. The overall height needs to be reduced for more performance sacrificing little comfort???
There are small rolls during cornering, changing lanes at speeds above 60 km/h, waving even. There is 4 fingers gap at the rear while 2.5 fingers gap front.
After feedback and consultation, the rear is reduced by 15 mm where the entire coilover is taken out, machine a new grove position to hold the coil higher, then machine cut off the extra absorber stroke for proper travel matching.
This is the correct way, not reducing the coil's height then add a helper spring, which is wrong. The front is reduced only by 7 mm.
Now there is 2 fingers gap front and 3 fingers gap rear. Very nice to look at now. Lower than conventional height, definitely performance looks, but not till the extend of over doing it.
Aftermath
Hahahahaha, I'll take on their CIVIC EF6 now :) mua hah ah hah ahh ha ha
Can't believe it, just minor changes, the roll is reduced significantly, exaggerated as almost no roll. The acceleration improved because the front does not tilt up much. The braking also improved because the front does not sink down much. All in all no more than one inch nose tilt or dip travel as oppose to stock cars' of around 3 to 4 inch.
Really happy now :) and for no reason I drive faster than before. Previously take my own sweat time to accelerate till traffic speed. Now, don't care keep accelerating, as long as there is this nice feel from the back pushing forward, very tight, very comfortable :) very stable, can feel the shear raw power properly transferred to the ground :) hah ah hah ah.
Suspensions...................can never really understand them (for me). Sure pays to get them done right :)
So Finale, really? YES and NO.
hehehhe since their services and expertise is so good :) eheheheeh going back again to try to get them to change the current rear axle's 4 link lateral rods' bushes and pan hard rod's bushes using their custom made bushes. Hehehe, lets hope there would be a difference in noise, comfort, tightness of control and feedback etc :). Lets see.
