If do again, how?
7 March 04
(Update 2014 June - I would not do some of the things written in 2004, original writing is kept in comparison to new, consider it part of lesson learnt)
What other items needed?
The other major parts required are: -
T50 gearbox with a A-type Clutch Housing from AE86, not corona or whatever
T285 rear axle with OEM LSD 4.3 final differential ratio from AE86.
Propeller shaft from AE86 (two pieces type) - (Update 2014 June - recommend to use SINGLE_piece from CORONA model, it's 100% correct, not repeat my mistake of using a KE70 prop_shaft then cut away the head. Stupid me.) See link Propeller Shaft Dynamically BALANCED
These will directly bolt up to the KE70, so no description required. Any tom dick and harry mechanic will know how to bolt them up.
Often people from the internet will refer to the rear axle as "Zenki" or "Kauki". These are Japanese pronunciation of early stage and later stage respectively. The words are of Chinese origian and the Mandarin pronunciations are "Zian Ji" and "Ho Ji" respectively.
It is a known fact that the latter version have a thicker drive shaft. 25.xx mm diameter versus 24.xx mm. This is not important as long as the car is powered by an engine with no more than 30kg or torque. Or in short below 200bhp at the wheels. All figures are "ball park" it's just my personal estimate.
not complete, to be continued ......... 2-way
The real question now is, how to install the engine into KE70?
