Basic Study - Page 8 - EQ

A 30 band EQ will be applied to achieve theoretical perfect condition "Flat Frequency Response"

  1. Yellow is original
  2. Blue is EQ

Wow, look at the man. A tweeter that plays from 550Hz to 20khz, literally within +/- 2dB from 105dB SPL.

The EQ data is as follows: -

1st attempt -

500 8
635 10
800 3
1k 3
1.25k -3
1.6k 0
2k 0
2.5k -6
3.2k -6
4k -3
5k -5
6.4k 0
8k 0

Start to loose high mid, however not good, so erased and start all over again.

2nd attempt: -

500 8
635 10
800 3
1k 3
1.25k -3
1.6k 0
2k 0
2.5k -6
3.2k -6
4k 0
5k -5
6.4k 0
8k 0

Still have allot of high mid, so erased and start all over again. The approach must be wrong. Therefore start to mess using other frequencies 1st and at different levels.

3rd attempt: -

500 8
635 10
800 3
1k 3
1.25k -3
1.6k 0
2k 0
2.5k -6
3.2k -6
4k -6
5k -7
6.4k 3
8k 3
10k 1.5
12.8k -3
16k 0
20k 9

This is the set, which will give the results obtained above. It is repeatable. There is no need to sequence which frequency 1st, which next. As long as the above figure is set on the EQ, the modified frequency response result will appear.

The ultimate result coupled with the horn is in next page: -
