Ultra Racing Strut Bars - do not DIY to imitate

14th April 2004

Below is my reply to a forum thread.

I only installed them because I suspect my chassis is really battered and require help. Under no choice and high reluctance mentality and mood I decided to try them.

To my surprise, they worth every penny.

The only other way is to go to a local mud-guard shop to make yourself and needs to be next to a exhaust shop because require bending curve machine. Use 1.5 inch diameter steel pipe.

Considering the amount of time spent and buying material and hiring welding and bender, I think it's more easy to just send the car to Ultra Racing and let them face the troubles.

BTW I'm glad I did not DIY because in the rear boot 4 points brace case. My design would have been a failure compared to their solutions. I am very pleased with their decision. They certainly have allot of experience in order to come up with such a setup so quickly. My design would definitely fail.

2 points brace will not be as good as 4 point brace. After using the rear boot 4 points brace with and without. I will not bother with the 2 points anymore.

Because 4 points brace assist in acceleration and braking. 2 point brace only helps during cornering.
