Restoration 2

Install Dash Frame & Clean Engine Bay

Project 1 failed 29th November 2001 - May 2002

Project 2 began on 9th September 2002

Now is 26th September 2002

Today I took leave from work to clean the engine bay off old paint and rust while my mech. is busy installing the dash with all it's ancillaries like AE101's complete air-cond system, steering column, buttons and switches etc.

Morning

Notice the Main-beam skeleton holds everything in place. It is mandatory for a proper fitting transplant. It hold the air-cond's blower, cooling coil, guides, the complete steering column, the dashboard itself and many more.

Evening

It is not complete, just a mock-up of what it will become. That was the mech. part, and for my part of the day.

Cleaningggggggggggggggggggggggggg the engine bayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

I think I wasted 2 tanks of thinner already and only get very little results :( It is no wonder why no / not many workshops willing to do this. Else they charge very expensive using high-tech removals like sand-blasting :) Ooooooooo that must be nice :)~~~~~~~
