T50 gearbox from Corona for AE86

Late December 2003 to Early February 2004

2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th Oil Change

The oil for 2nd, 3rd is is lubrimaxx SAE 90 API GL-4 with Extreme Pressure Additives. Mineral Ringgit Malaysia (RM) 22 for 4 liters. Effective 2+ oil change.

I did not managed to change the oil every 1,000 km due to busy working schedule and meetings with car mod friends :) it is estimated to be around 1,500 km per oil change.

The oil is extremely dirty .......... and contains heavy fine debris deposits.

On the 4th oil change, there is not enough oil and is toped-up using elf SAE 140 API-GL4 most of it. After 500 it is removed and it relatively clean yellowish. Definitely not burnt like previously.

Finally the 5th oil change uses Bardahl SAE 140 API-GL4. It is very thick. Feels a tad thicker than elf SAE 140.

Morning gear shifts extremely difficult into 1st gear for the 1st 2 km. After that everything becomes normal. Afternoon no problems at all. Late night still fines. Always early morning cold is a problem with shifting into 1st. 

After 2 weeks morning shifts also becomes normal.
