Continuing from What do we listen for?

When too much concentration is used, human-psychology takes place / over where one starts to fool him / her self for hearing things.....

Other issues

The prove to acute, sensitive listening is everyone are not satisfied with their sound system. Everyone could hear all the thousands of minor defects, but due to lack of understanding of sound, where more importantly lack of understanding of acoustics, and finally most important of all, lack of understanding of psycho-acoustics (i.e. how human listen and brain processes sound).

One become un-able to explain / describe the defects and resort of conventional method to improve the situation, often relying too much from magazines as source of information. Un-fortunately, magazines do not provide educational information required to explain all the defects / limitation, therefore one looses sense of direction to achieve good sound.

Some would take up a textbook and study it, however failed to realize that this (sound itself) is an extremely difficult, complicated, confusing subject, where most importantly, it's a culmination of all science from all fields.

Therefore when one just study one (1) or a few textbooks, they find the theory does not correlate to practice and hence come to the serious wrong conclusion that theory are wrong / in-capable of describing real-life situation.

This is however in-sufficient study and unfortunate for the readers as the study journey was not complete come to the wrong conclusion.

The definition of all fields being a combine cross-study of the following items in a multi-parallel overlapping infinity circle.

  1. Basics of Acoustics (Introduction of Acoustics)

  2. Fundamental of Acoustics (Principles of Acoustics)

  3. Basic and Advance audio

  4. Basic electronics

  5. Recording studio methods

  6. PA system methods (indoor and outdoor), (small and large), (hot, humid and cold)

  7. Theoretical correlation with car-audio

  8. Theoretical correlation with home hi-fi

  9. Theretical correlation with recording studio

  10. Time domain measurement system

  11. Frequency domain measurement system

  12. Real-Time-Analyzers (RTA 1/3 octaves and 1/6 octaves)

  13. Ray-Tracing

  14. Beam-Tracing

  15. Finite Element Method (FEM)

  16. Boundary Element Methods (BEM)

  17. Cross theory and practice of all state above in parallel dimension.

  18. and much much more

ultimately when this state is achieved, one would understand and produce statement like these: -

Time = Frequency, Time do not = Frequency

or

Car-Audio = Home Hi-Fi = Recording studio = PA = infinity.

But also Car-Audio do no = Home Hi-Fi do not = Recording studio do not = PA do not = infinity.

or

They are the same yet they are not the same.

Why do I say so?

Cause too MUCH theory overlaps each other, but / while having their own distinct difference. Therefore they are same, yet different.

Please be reminded that sound is only a small part of acoustics.

Acoustics govern sound.
