Horn Loudspeaker in Car

1st January 2003 - report written and upload

True event around April 2003

Left Fullrange Study

Another investigation is made. The complete left acoustical output is studied. It is the green color curve. Please note that the original measurement has been "smoothed" using 1/3 octave formulation, therefore all the peaks and throuf are missing. This is to facilitate quick viewing for quick investigation. Else the human naked eyes, coupled with a brain that is not design to process such information would be easily confused with too much information.

Then notice the purple color curve. It is the mid speakers' wire flipped 180 degrees out of phase. This is to check if the active filter is applied correctly. Apparent there are sudden rise around 120Hz, which is understandable, because there is a filter there.

But there is another rise around 1.2kHz, this is extra ordinary because there is no filter there. If there is going to be a filtering correction then it should be around 480Hz.

HHHhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmm strange............ got ghost!!!!!!

Nah, this is again, only on a suspicion level, that the compression driver's initial output is around 1kHz. Further study will have to be made to ascertain this myth hehehee.
