Dismantling 4A-GE 20v Head
6th July 2003 2pm till 6pm - Location - back kitchen :)
Part 2
The bolts are so tight, I have to extend the length to overcome it's lock.
It is so tough that the entire engine moves and I have to force the engine against a wall to turn the bolt loose. Sure is not easy dismantling a engine without proper tools and place. :(
The nut which was used to dismantle the engine was so worn it could not be used anymore and I have to go to a hardware shop to buy proper strong nut.
The lack of tools also cause me to go out and buy the necessary tools a few times. Only the required tools are bought and not the whole set to keep costs low. Some time is wasted, but this project is not urgent. It's the process of DIY that counts.
Finally the head is removed from the block - oh very dirty and a bit rusty due to expose to rain for several months :( but only slightly...
Valves dirty, last running was over rich due to bad EFI wiring.... :(
